NP Reducing BioPellets
1.023Worldのエイジさんのご好意で私が販売させてもらっているNP-Reducing BioPelletsについて少しアップデート。半分は、自分の情報の整理ですが。。。
以下、私が知らなかったことや以前に記事にしていない部分です。
- 他社製品よりも高分子の生分解物質を使用しているため、補充期間が他より長い
- 餌食量が非常に多い場合、リン酸吸着剤も併用すると良い
- しっかり立ち上がった後、バクテリアの数は、リン酸、硝酸塩の値が下がると減る。逆もしかり
- 規定量よりNP-Reducing BioPelletsを増やしてはいけない
- 初期値の硝酸塩が20ppm以上の場合、システム立ち上げ後に白濁することがある。（解決法は下を参照）
- オゾンや殺菌灯の使用は、十二分のバクテリアが湧く時間を長くさせる。また、スキマーで取り除かれなかったバクテリアがこれらの機器で死に、それがメインタンクに流れ込むことでリン酸、窒素化合物が放出される。
- BioPelletsはプロテインスキマーの「前」に置くことを勧める。理由は、バクテリアをメイン水槽に流れ込ませないため。
- BioPellets導入前に硝酸塩濃度を測り、高硝酸塩濃度なら規定量の20-50%で始める。
- その後、3-7日様子を見て、徐々に規定量まで増やしていく。

Hi~ I have some questions about this method.
1. What is difference between zeovit and BioPellet. I think the concept of them is very similar to use carbon source.
2. What is pro and con of this method?
3. Is there any recommendation among some brands(BRS, NP-reducing, Ecobak...)

Here is answer based on my interpretation. Please be remember that I am not expert like other people at RC.
1. I think it is the same concept from the point of reducing the nutrition. However, I read ReefBuilders.com article that ZEOvit removes everything from the water and control the trace elements with ZEOvit additive. In contrast, BioPellets is just a carbon source like Vodka or VSV method. It looks like Zeolith is to remove trace elements.
2.
BioPellets is easy to start, but it is difficult to find the optimum flow rate and volume. Some people are struggling to find these things.
Best advantage is that you do not have to does Carbon source manually, but it can be disadvantage as well. =(
3.
I do not have any recommended brand, but I think it is better to use the brand many people are using. Then, you can easily get the advice from other people at RC.
